Dear Friends and Colleagues,
The film has not been able to secure a venue in Miami until now, which is why I and a few others stepped in to make sure audiences here could see it. I hope to see some of you there!
My father and I will be around to answer questions after the screening.

I wish I could make it! Then again I guess I already had a screening in the comfort of my own home! Great DVD, Thanks Vivien!
Hi Vivien,
I can’t wait to see your documentary tomorrow night. I know only too well from hanging out with your sister, what your family had to endure during those dark days in Miami.
I am proud that you had the guts to stand up and speak up for what really happened during that time.
I am so proud of you.
I hope to see you tomorrow.
Mayra Renau Hernandez
Mayra so great to see you,
Miriam will be at the screening as well. Bring Rudy!
hahahah !
Hi Vivi,
Great seeing you last night. The documentary was awesome!
Please send me the pictures through Facebook.
Keep in touch and best of luck!

Hello Viviene,
I just saw you on South Florida Today. I congratulate you on your valor. I am your same generation and know exactly how you feel about the difficulty of reconciling the intellectual feelings with the heart. In my case my entire family was aghast at my openness to question “La postura familiar”. I often feel guilt of being for dialogue and peace knowing that my parents did indeed suffer material loss and personal humiliation in Cuba. In college many of my friends stopped speaking to me because I traveled to Cuba to “see for myself” what was going on. I must however be true to myself and my own views on Cuba/US relations and the future of Cuba. I will be at the South Beach Showing on Monday 8PM, and I hope to meet you then.
Alex
Hi, Vivian: I met your father many many years ago (early sixties) when we wre working with some of the more progressive Cuban-Americans in Miami. I left for a variety of reasons (school, work, etc)and have lived in the NE ever since. I do come back every so often to vist my folks. I saw when the documentary was shown in New York but couldn’t come to the screening. I look forward to seeing it in late September. What a courageous enterprise at a time when we need it the most. More power to you!
Very interesting documentary! I was at Colony on Saturday, and I’m going tomorrow to the Cinemateque with two friends. Could you please let me know if Max will be there and if you will be selling dvd’s? Do they have subtitles in Spanish? I want to show this to my family in Cuba.
Many thanks.
Alex,
to be true to yourself is sometimes not easy …..I look
forward to meeting u at the Cinematheque on Monday night !
Michael,
Great to hear from you. I really wish you could have made it to a screening. please join the Game of Peace on my website and lets start sending peace and love to Cuba. Keep in touch, Viv
Ari,
I will be at the Cinemateque tonight and my dad and I will be at the Tower on Wednesday. Hope to see you.. Yes I am selling DVDs - online and at the screening, but only the English version for now.
Hello Viv, I just met you tonight @ the Miami Beach Cinematheque, your story really open up my eyes, and touched me emotionally. I also believe your dad is right in taking a more humanitarian way of handling this nightmare our Cuban people are living. Both extremes are bad like everything in life, we have to find a middle ground so that Cubans on both side can stop the foolish suffering. I wont continue with this subject for now because I can fill up your wall. Thank you for the DVD, and I will be @ Tower Theater tomorrow to support you again. Once last request if you can give me the details about where and when in Paris you will be attending to show your film…and can share the information with friends over there and possible go out there myself… y despues a bailar salsa en un lugar cubano…
Thanks again for your contribution to making this place we call home a better place! -Fabian @)—–
Looking forward seeing the film tonight, should we get tickets early?
We are 6. Thanks Lisa
Great film Vivien!
I was the neurologist in the back of the room last night after the showing who asked you difficult questions….I’m interested in discussing a sequel to your fine (totally unique) documentary based upon my experiences dealing with a different dimension of the Cuba-USA situation…If I were to draw an analogy: There is obviously no single movie that could be made about the New York metropolitan region, an area with the same number of people who live in Cuba. You have captured one extremely important aspect of the Cuba-USA saga with your film. I believe I can present another. I look forward to hearing from you.

Wow Doctor! Sounds really interesting! I’m gearing up for my next documentary already, which is on another subject all together. Still let me know more about you here.
Thanks! Vivien
Fabian! Great meeting you too. Here are the Paris details-
The best place to look is their official website: http://www.parislatinofilmfestival.com/
My film plays Wednesday 15 at 14hs15 and Thursday 16 at 22hs00.
Look back for more info!
Hi Vivien
Is your dad going to be at the Tower Theater tomorrow (tue, sep 30th)??
hola vivien! i just learned about your film and am very interested in watching it with my father; from the previews i can completely relate to your story as i am also a cuban american woman who grew up in miami encompassed by the cuban diaspora. my papi was originally a Reaganite but after a few years realized the illogical and inhumane foreign policy the US upholds against the Cuban people.
I have not yet had the opportunity to watch your film and was wondering if the showing at the Tower Theater tonight, 30th Sept, is still going ahead? I have tried to call the cinema but cant seem to get any info. Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated, and although I have yet to see the film I want to thank you for making young Cuban American women’s voices heard!
muchas gracias hermana!
barbara
Hola Hermana,
So sorry you missed us at The Tower/ For now, the only way to see the film is by buying a DVD on this site. It would be great if you had a screening at your house for your friends, we really need to get the word out there. Which means I need you. Love to meet you on the journey.
